Electronic circuits
Summary: During our electronics unit we covered various concepts and situation relating to electrical circuits. We started off with a 6 chapter circuit investigation project, that led into a practical project. The practical project consisted of building a 555 blinking led circuit. We utilize the knowledge that we acquired from the circuit investigation to build our own circuit using various components provided for us.
Unit Concepts:
Ohm's Law: Voltage= Current x Resistance
Circuit: a complete loop of conductive material with a power source
Resistors: poor conductors that reduce voltage
Voltage: power that electricity gives off, push/pull of electricity, pressure or potential energy difference

Summary: During the robotics portion of this unit we covered various concepts and situations relating to Arduino micro controllers. This portion of the unit was mainly focused on the Arduino micro controller and a project book that came with the kit. This project book consisted of several chapters containing different skill levels projects. After completing the project book we made our own "robot art show" featuring the concepts that we learned throughout this unit.

Reflection:
Although I learned many of these concepts and did many of these projects at my old school, it was still a very good experience. There are some new concepts I learned such as what each component does for a circuit and how to control the circuit with these components. I thought that my partner and I did a very good job on problem solving the problems that we were tasked with. Although we originally struggled with the 555 circuit we realized that we were not the only people having a problem. The whole class was having the same problem of not having a detailed set of instructions to base our research and development on. We came together as a class to overcome this problem by researching the best circuit and instructions for our goal of making an led blink. I felt that this was one of the best units because we had an ample amount of time to complete each task.
