Coca cola Project
Our Challenge:
-Make 100,000 gallons of 85% phosphoric acid and transport it to Coke
-Make the product of Coke and they will pay us $3.29 per pound of phosphoric acid
-We will also have to transport it to Coke
-Make 100,000 gallons of 85% phosphoric acid and transport it to Coke
-Make the product of Coke and they will pay us $3.29 per pound of phosphoric acid
-We will also have to transport it to Coke
Need to Knows:
-How much phosphorus do we need?
-How much profit will we make?
-Total cost?
-How many rail cars will we need to transport product?
-How many cans of coke will be made?
-How long it will take to manufacture?

How much we will get paid:
-$3.29(14.05 Gallons/1lb)(1,000,000 Gallons)=46,224,500
-Total cost will be $46,224,500
-$3.29(14.05 Gallons/1lb)(1,000,000 Gallons)=46,224,500
-Total cost will be $46,224,500
How much it will cost to manufacture:
-It costs $2.05 to make one pound of phosphorus
-To manufacture the product without transportation or manufacturing cost it will cost $28,802,500
-It costs $2.05 to make one pound of phosphorus
-To manufacture the product without transportation or manufacturing cost it will cost $28,802,500
How much profit will we make:
-($46,224,500-$28,802,500)=$17,422,000 this isn't including manufacturing costs or transportation.

How much phosphorus will we need:
Transportation:
-To transport the the phosphoric acid will will be using rail cars
-Each rail car can hold 50 metric tons of product
-We took the amount of phosphorus we had and converted it to metric tons
1,715,892,253 gallons (1mt/ 1,000,000)=1,715.892mt
-Divid that number by 50 and we figured out it will take 35 rail cars

Conclusion: In conclusion our group finished the project a little later than the other groups because we still had some questions we wanted to answer. We felt that if we had presented without them answered it wouldn't be the best presentation we could offer. With that said we answered the questions and were ready to present the following class. Besides the fact that our group finished a little later than the other groups we still accomplished all the tasks and worked well as a team. Our team work skills and ability to come together to finish the project are what allowed us to thoroughly investigate the project and answer all questions.
